Wilma,
-Is it reasonable enough to offer Hospitality Studies as an examination subject knowing that there is not enough of teaching and learning resources/facilities?
-Is it fair towards learners to offer Hospitality Studies at a school without the required equipments and/or facilities?
I don't even want to talk about human resources. Schools do advance planning and send requisitions to districts/education departments, with regard to needs, depending on the individual school's numbers. However, when realizing that there would be delays and/or shortage of supply, schools need to augment the departmental supplies. SGBs have the responsibilty of securing sponsorships/donations, and establishing fundraising programmes. The aim being to cover the needs of schools (especially, what is not available). Out there, hopefully! There are many companies that await calls from schools - to provide schools with resources/facilities. Vuka Uzenzele! Schools need to wake up and do things by themselves, creating better life for themselves. Our learners need to acquire skills from us - how to create things/provide for ourselves. No spoon feeding! Hard work, will give us pleasure. Being lazy, will make us slaves. From what we do, and from what we give, "we will get what we deserve!".
Surely!.
