The election of School Governing Bodies (SGBs) every three years is one of the more important activities that the Department of Basic Education engages in. The elections see well over a  million parents voting for their peers to fill over 100 000 positions.The importance of the 1 March - 31 March 2012  SGB elections cannot be overstated.
