HELP!  Is there anyone out there?  I have tried to contact the DoE in various ways to get answers about the 2009 PAT, but in vain.  I have emailed the department, tried to phone the Helpline and tried to contact individuals whose contact details were available on websites, etc.  Will SOMEONE please put us out of our misery and tell us whether we should carry on with the 2008 PAT or await further instructions.

Hi Tourism Colleague. Don't know if you had any reply to your 02-09-2009 query about PAT 2009. We had our provincial training to mediate the PAT at cluster level on Saturday 7 February. Tourism facilitators for all districts in Gauteng were present with 1 or 2 cluster leaders or lead teachers. I have just mediated our district about PAT 2009 gr12 at cluster meeting 17 Feb. Last year we received PAT provincial mediation on 1 March and there after mediated at cluster level. It is an improvement of 1 month, even though educators would want cluster mediation much sooner. If you haven't received the SBA Guideline Documents, for 2009, contact your FET Manager at your district, drive there with a flash drive / memory stick, 10 min to download these for all subjects (secure your stick as virus easily transfered) and be the hero at your school. PAT's, Work Schedules, Content Frame Work and Mark sheets for 2009 available via your Tourism Facilitator at district, you'll need to give them an e-mail address. Attend ALL cluster meetings, follow these guideline documents as soon as you receive them figuring out how to make up time (assessment tasks not to be done at home, but in class after and with your guidance), liase with lead teachers in your district, get involved and share. Good luck!
