Has the department of education made any provision about the weighting of these children?

The current post provisioning norms make provision for the weighting of learners with moderate levels of support needs. The SNAP Survey as well as the Annual School Survey require schools to provide detail of learners who experience barriers to learning so that provision could be made for them. Furthermore the incremental introduction of the National Strategy on Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support (SIAS) creates new mechanisms for schools to provide individual support to learners with moderate support needs. Funding has also been made available by National Treasury to support full-service schools and District-based Support Teams. Most provinces are creating additional posts for learning support facilitators who could visit schools to support Institutional Level Support Teams and teachers on a more regular basis with practical skills to implement inclusive education. The fact of the matter is that systemic change is happening on a wide scale in South Africa.

Thanks Marie for the explanation. My concern is that if it is left to the provinces to take this responsibility, some provinces will never be able to implement that successfully. So my humble request is to have the full guidance and support  of National DoE.
