Guidelines for Planners


The Guidelines to Ensure Quality Education and Support in Special Schools and Special School Resource Centres (2007)
outline the minimum standards in the following areas:

Admission of Learners, Provision of Quality Support, Curriculum, Assessment, LTSM, Staff Supply and Qualifications, Physical Infrastructure, Hostel Accommodation, Material Resources, Transport, Family and Community.

The Guidelines also outline the criteria for a Special School to be considered a Resource Centre.
