Population

The total number of people or inhabitants occupying a specific area. population is about the social world, including people dynamics that are ever changing over time and space, such as the processes of migaration, fertility and mortality. Population has size, composition and structure.

Population Census

Refers to the physical count of a population. A population census is conducted in every five years in South Africa.

Dersitification

The land degradation in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid areas resulting from various factors, including climatic variations and human activities.

Drought

The naturally occuring phenomenon that exists when precipitationhas been significantly below normal recorded levels, causing serious hydrological imbalances that adversely affect land resource production system.
