The website highligts some interesting aspects:

5 computer skills a 21st century teacher should have
Two of these are:

  • Experience of online project work
  • The ability to nurture creativity – and mark it
Teachers need to create assignments that encourage students to think in new ways
(For me, creativity incules problem solving, and combining applications and skills, etc.)

10 things that will be obsolete in education by 2020
Four of these are:

  • HTML illiteracy
  • Paper
We all use paper and many of us love it, so it won’t have disappeared completely by 2020. But it will no longer be regarded as the no.1 work tool
  • Homework (as we know it now)
Instead, students will have assignments and deadlines, and they’ll do some work at home and some at school (CAT PAT?)
  • The fear of failure
The rise of new (?) assessment techniques, and formative assessment, will help ensure teachers focus on the learning process and student progress

Learning focuses on visual learning and assessment

  • Visible learning means that both teachers and students experience that learning takes place
  • Visual teaching occurs when learning is the explicit goal
  • Assessment and assessment rubrics
Self-assessment and a new (?) feature called assessment rubrics
